MGT111: Organisational Behaviour

The course Organisational Behaviour is oriented towards developing a better understanding of human behavior at the individual and collective level, i.e., at a team and an organizational level, including various organizational factors and management practices that affect such behaviour. It further entails using that knowledge to help people be more productive and satisfied in organisational settings that enhance organisational effectiveness and profitability. The topics include various aspects of human behaviour, like one’s self-behavior, personality, perception, emotion & attitude, motivation, decision making at the individual level, team dynamics, power & politics, leadership, at the team level, and organizational structure, organizational culture, and organizational change at the organization level in eliciting desired behavior of people at the individual as well as a collective level.

MGT113: Critical Thinking and Writing Skills
Semester II, M-25

The course focusses on embedding and enriching 'Critical thinking and writing skills' amongst the students. We understand that critical thinking stands important for a professional as it fuels generation of novel ideas, increased use of vocabulary. This leads to transforming thoughts into compelling narratives, involving imagination, strong vocabulary, structure (like character, conflict, resolution), and consistent practice through reading and writing prompts to develop originality and effective communication.

This aims blending and analyzing arguments, identifying biases, and evaluating evidence with practical writing skills like structuring essays, paraphrasing, summarizing, and citing sources, focusing on constructing logical, evidence-based arguments for various audiences, incorporating elements like research, inference, and reflection to develop clear, persuasive communication.

The students would develop curiosity, open-mindedness, problem-solving, and continuous learning, enhancing overall innovation and storytelling ability. 

MGT115: Economics of SAARC Countries

The Economics of SAARC Countries course covers regional economic cooperation, trade, and development among South Asian nations (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka). It focuses on SAFTA, tackling poverty, infrastructure connectivity, and reducing trade barriers, while analyzing India's central role and structural economic disparities.

Objectives of the Course:
  • Understand the mechanics of regional integration in South Asia.
  • Analyze the impact of trade policies on economic growth.
  • Evaluate challenges like political differences that hinder economic cooperation.
